Scammers can make any name or number show up on your caller ID.
What is a spoofed call?
You receive a phone call, you recognize the phone number, you answer the phone and it's not who you expected. Scammers use software to set up robocalls and they have the opportunity to decide what is displayed on the caller id screen. They will use legit phone numbers to trick you into answering the phone.
Don't respond!! The latest scams are spoofing valid phone numbers to trick you into verifying personal information. If they are asking questions and wanting you to verify personal information, play it safe and just don't respond. When our fraud team contacts you about a transaction we will NOT ask for your PIN or any other account details! We will verify your name and the transaction in question - that's it.
If you're not sure, you can call FTWCCU directly at (817) 835-5000 or the phone number listed on the back of your card.
